Pandemic Readiness Centre in Hamilton
This adaptive reuse space was once home to Westinghouse Forge, and a manufacturing site. This facility was built in 1913 and has been acquired by MIP and McMaster University to be the new home of Canada’s Global Nexus for Pandemics and Biological Threats. To realize a world where biological threats are anticipated, rapidly detected, addressed and neutralized, this 300,000 sq. ft. research and innovation centre will focus on ensuring the world is prepared for the next wave of a pandemic event whenever it should happen.
Set to open in December 2024, MIP is currently accepting leasing inquiries for parties interested in being a part of this facility, partnering with McMaster in research, or commercialization. In addition to the research spaces, the Central Hall of this facility will house the entire Park’s amenities, including a full-service restaurant, cafe, market, shops, meeting spaces, and other vendors.
